Arrived at Afan Lodge. Piers Bramhall & Emma Foley were novice Mountain Bikers on Arrival. 3 Hours later after spending some time on Afan Lodge Mountain Bike Skills course, together with tuition from Afan Lodge instructors went on to riding one of Afan's World Class Mountain Bike trails "The Wall"

Afan Lodge win Best New Business at National Tourism Awards 2010
The cream of the Welsh tourism industry were awarded last night at the Vale Resort as the National Tourism Awards gala evening was held in partnership with Visit Wales, The Wales Tourism Alliance and in commercial partnership with corporate communications company Quadrant.
Almost 400 applications were received and 53 organisations made it to last tonight’s final competing for 16 awards which were up for grabs. The winners were announced by TV presenter, Sarra Elgan.
Afan Lodge a newly built hotel within its own grounds in the Afan Argoed Country Park, Port Talbot was the winner of the Best New Business award. Judges believed that the hotel has pitched itself perfectly for the mountain bike market and the owners’ enthusiasm was described as ‘infectious’.
