Aberavon Seafront

Aberavon seafront is one of Wales’ longest Blue Flag beaches and has a contemporary promenade that overlooks Swansea Bay.

Aberavon is a surfing ‘hotspot’ and whatever month of the year, you are sure to find a crowd of surfers in search of the perfect wave!

Gnoll Estate

Gnoll Estate was once owned by a wealthy industrial family, the Mackworths. Today, the Estate has developed into a family park but still maintains its original features. We have four large duck ponds, two 18th century cascades and the ruins of Gnoll House.

Neath Abbey

Originally founded as a daughter house of Savigny in 1130, the abbey was absorbed into the Cistercian order in 1147. Fairly complete remains of the abbey survive, together with the sixteenth-century mansion raised within its precincts.

South Wales Miners Museum

Today, the recently renovated museum features a Lamproom, Engine House and Sheave Wheel. The most emotive section of our museum is an exhibition showing the work children carried out underground.

Swansea Canal

Swansea canal adds to Neath Port Talbot’s network of canals which also include the Neath Canal and the Tennant Canal in the Vale of Neath. Sections of the Tenant Canal meander through the Swansea Valley which is rich in heritage and home to the Pontardawe Arts Festival.
